Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) refers to the application of topical negative pressure to promote healing in acute and chronic wounds. The therapeutic benefits of NPWT include reducing bacterial load, increasing blood flow to the wound, and stimulating granulation tissue formation.
Usage:
• Ensure the port is away from the wound or incision line before applying the dressing to the wound.
• Smooth out the dressing to prevent wrinkling. Reposition if necessary.
• Insert batteries into the pump.
• Attach the pump to the dressing and activate it by pressing the orange button.
• Apply additional adhesive strips to the edges of the dressing to create an airtight seal when the green light starts flashing, indicating that the system is functioning effectively.
